High ambient temperature areas or inaccessible mixer locations may require long pipe runs from the regulator to the mixers. Decreased capacity, delayed response, and adverse pressure losses often result from these long pipe runs. In these cases a Remote Compensator is recommended.
The Remote Compensator is a cast section that incorporates the patented flow corrector section of the regulator body. The impulse hole of the regulator is closed at the factory and the lower diaphragm chamber is connected to the Remote Compensator. The pressure downstream of the Remote Compensator is the same as would normally be expected from standard units. The Remote Compensator pipe size is the same as the basic regulator. Expanding couplings are assembled on the outlet of the Remote Compensator to reduce piping pressure losses.
